Bona Fide consists of Rennard Powell and Isadora Ferrao. This stylish duo work with other musicians to create a pleasing fusion of smooth easy listening which is bound to soothe your senses. From motown and jazz to reggae, calypso and soca, they will have you clicking your fingers, wiggling your hips or singing along. Bona Fide are driven by their passion to please their audience and united in their desire to bring back live performances to Cayman’s music industry.
Rennard is a drummer and percussionist whose reputation precedes him. He has been a musician in Grand Cayman for almost 3 decades and grew up in the district of Bodden Town. Rennard created his version of the drums at the age of 9 using his mother’s pots and beating them with sticks from a tamarind tree. His first drum kit was given to him by his late beloved brother George when Rennard was 14 years old and this kickstarted his career in music. His passion for drumming is as obvious in his performance as is his persistent practice (his sleepless neighbours from Cumber Avenue, Bodden Town can tell a tale or two).
Isadora is a lead singer and pianist and has been performing publicly since she was 7 years old. She was born in Harare, Zimbabwe and could sing before she could talk. A true entertainer, Isadora loves to dress the part to suit the genre of music and the event and create an ambience. Isadora has been singing in Grand Cayman and was one of the finalists in the Star Quest competition sponsored by Cable & Wireless in 2004/2005. She has been performing in Cayman for the past five years but has been singing and playing music for almost 3 decades herself starting in Zimbabwe moving to England and now in Cayman.
